An exciting summer awaits lovers of Israeli culture: Ofra Haza, one of the most beloved and iconic stars in the history of Israeli music, is returning to the stage – not in one, but in two musicals that bring her voice and story back to life.
🌟 “Schlager” – The Musical
The beloved 1979 film, in which Ofra made her breakthrough as Dina and performed the unforgettable “The Bimbo Song” (“Shir HaFrecha”), is now being adapted into a stage musical. Eden Ben Zaken will take on the role of Dina, alongside Kobi Maor, Miki Geva, and Nir Saadon as the legendary comedy trio HaGashash HaHiver. Directed by Gadi Tzedaka and Michal Amdursky, the production will premiere this August and tour throughout Israel.
✨ “Ofra” – A Musical About Her Life
At the same time, the Hebrew Theater is developing a brand-new original musical titled “Ofra”, telling the story of her life—from the neighborhood streets of South Tel Aviv to the world’s grandest stages. Casting is currently underway to find the actress who will portray Ofra Haza, and we are all eagerly waiting to see who will step into her legendary shoes.
Ofra continues to inspire, move, and live in our hearts—25 years after her passing.
