“Broken Days” marks a creative revolution for Ofra Haza, being the first album where she wrote and composed every track. It also made history as the first Israeli album released on Compact Disc (CD). Her collaboration with producer Izhar Ashdot began with the 1985 “Galbi” remix and reached a global peak with 1987’s “Im Nin’alu,” lasting until the production of “Mata Hari” in 1995.
“The name of the game: excellent sound production. Ofra Haza owes a debt of gratitude to the arranger and producer, Izhar Ashdot… something here was tailored for Haza like a new gala dress.” — Yossi Hersonsky, Ma’ariv (September 19, 1986).
