This Year, Insha’allah

This Year, Insha’allah

  • Lyrics: Bezalel Aloni
  • Music: Ofra Haza
  • Arrangements: Uri Kariv
  • Album: Greatest Hits (2000)

Ofra and Bezalel wrote the song especially for Yardena Arazi, an Israeli singer who represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest of 1988. Yardena chose not to use the song on the Eurovision, so Ofra recorded it.

Lyrics

If a year will come to us, if a year.
If a year will come to us, a year of light,
Insh’Allah,
It will be a gift to all of us, a gift
Days of love together,
Insh’Allah

Yet to come is the day
When shalom and salam will be established,
And the Jordan will flow
as a river of peace among us

Yet to come is the day
When shalom and salam will be established
The day will come

Here is the home, the olive tree,
The blessing
Two hands, a light of joy in the eyes.
We have one dream in our heads, a dream
To live today, to live tomorrow in peace
Insh’Allah

Yet to come is the day
When shalom and salam will be established,
And the Jordan will flow
as a river of peace among us

Yet to come is the day
When shalom and salam will be established
The day will come

This year, insh’Allah, insh’Allah, it will come to us
This Year, insh’Allah, insh’Allah, shalom

Salam, insh’Allah
Shalom, insh’Allah
Salam, insh’Allah
Insh’Allah, Shalom

Yet to come is the day
When shalom and salam will be established,
And the Jordan will flow
as a river of peace among us

Yet to come is the day
When shalom and salam will be established
The day will come

Yet to come is the day
When shalom and salam will be established,
And the Jordan will flow
as a river of peace among us

Yet to come is the day
When shalom and salam will be established
The day will come
