Latet

  • Lyrics: Hamutal Ben Ze’ev
  • Music: Bo’az Sharabi
  • Arrangements: Yaron Bachar
  • Album: Manginat Ha-Lev (2000)

The song was recorded by Ofra for the Hebrew Work project, dedicated to 50 years of Israeli independance, 1998.

When Ofra chose the song, she turned to Yaron Bachar to produce it, and only after they began to work on it that she found it he also produced the original version of the song, sang by Bo’az Sharabi, 1987.

Ofra: “When I heard the song, I felt it was written for me and sung for me. I love Bo’az Sharabi. All of his songs are soul. When I was asked to choose a song I want to sing, I started thinking and thinking. THen suddenly I said this I want to sing ‘To Give’ by Bo’az Sharabi, because it symbolizes everything for me. All the strengh, the giving, the recieving, what we are, actually. When I had the lyrics in front of me, I was dying to know how did Hamutal Ben Ze’ev write such beautiful endless words. Each line is fill with power and emotion”
