Ha-ke’ev ha-ze

  • Lyrics: Ofra Haza
  • Music: Ofra Haza and Izhar Ashdot
  • Arrangements: Izhar Ashdot
  • Album: Yamim Nishbarim (1986)
Yizhar Ashdot: “In the case of ‘This Pain,’ I felt that the verse wasn’t strong enough, so I re-composed it. Ofra composed the chorus and, of course, wrote the lyrics.” After the plane crash in which Ofra was traveling in 1987, while walking in the rain and mud, she began singing the song “This Pain” to herself. The song was renewed by leading Israeli singers Ivri Lider and Ninet Tayeb in 2007, marking seven years since Ofra’s passing. The song reached No. 21 on Reshet G’s annual chart in 1987 and held the No. 1 position on the weekly chart for one week. The song reached No. 27 on Galatz’s annual chart in 1987 and climbed as high as No. 3 on the weekly charts.
