Pgisha Be-Shesh

  • Lyrics: Ofra Haza
  • Music: Ofra Haza
  • Arrangements: Izhar Ashdot
  • Album: Yamim Nishbarim (1986)

Ofra: “A memory of a friend who fell in the Yom Kippur War. I was reminded of him when Yafa Yarkoni (a legendary Israeli singer) spoke on the TV show ‘This Is Your Life’ about her first husband, who fell in the War of Independence. They had a special song they shared, just as I had with that friend. Yafa’s words sent shivers through my whole body. Later, this song was born, inspired by ‘Wait for Me and I Shall Return’.”

In the show “Ofra Haza on Stage” (1986), following the album “Yamin Nishbarim,” Ofra performed the song while playing the piano.
