When We’re 73

When We’re 73

  • Lyrics: Bezalel Aloni
  • Music: Shlomo “Bambo” Cohen
  • Arrangements: Moshe Zorman
  • Album: Let’s Talk (1981)

The song was written as a paraphrase to the Beatles song When I’m 64.

Ofra: “There are people who are afraid of getting old, and many people hope toreach old age. This song is affected by the violence against old people, which became a phenomenon lately. Young people hit old people, mug them and sometimes even kill them. The song is about an old couple who has romantic dreams”.

Bezalel: “One day we were joking and then my wife Ogenia said: ‘I wonder what will happen when we are old at the age of 73? Will Ofra still be voted for singer of the year?'”
